The CHANGELINGS of AZLOT

The Changeling is a duel creature of magic, being half human and half animal, in this case, half puma and half human. The changeling looks like any other normal human and are - as a rule , of exceptional physical beauty.
The changeling is well toned, their skin is usually a deep golden tan and their eyes glow with a very bright shine, like that of a house cat.
They have slightly pointed or deckled ears like that of their feline counter parts. The Changelings features are also slightly feline in appearance, giving them a wild and exotic look.
Males are usually large of build reaching over 6 foot in height and weighing in at a solid 235+ pounds. The males generally a slight patch of lighten skin which runs from a off white to light gray in color, this patch is found under the eye brow area, atop the eyelid area.
The females usually grow around 5' 5" to 5' 7 " in height with some tribes having woman standing at 6 foot. The females weigh in around 125+ solid pounds. The females also have a white patch running the eyebrow area above the eyelids, giving them a natural made-up look, this accents their eyes, many a man whom have crossed their path consider them the finest looking women in the world.
The body temperature of a Changeling runs a little warmer then that of a human being.
The changeling while in human form retains it's ability to see in the dark, like a cat for up to 60 feet - Night Vision.
Their fingernails are often tapered and very sharp with the coloration running from a pearly white to black.

In COUGAR form the Changeling has the following stats:

Mv = 15"
AC= Same at the time of change, as all items and clothes transmute into the new shape if no armor is worn, it drops to AC 6 as per the cougar.
HD = Same as the druid or changers hit dice and points.
ATTS= 3
DAM= Claw, claw and bite d4, d4, and d8 *plus any bonuses for magic or strength.
SP ATTS = If two of the 3 attacks score a hit then a bonus rear claw is added , d4 per strike.
SP ABIL= Surprised only on a 1....Night vision 60' -Ultra
Can jump 15' vertical, can bound 20' forward
Stalk and track at 40% plus 5% per level

Changeling Notes ........

If a Changeling is killed in cougar form,it will remain in that form.
The changeling has the ability to heal itself 1d8 points per form change, for every three levels of experience, thus a 12 level priest, can heal 4d8 points of damage per form shift.
They can do this ability once for every three levels attained, so at 12 level they can do this feat 4 times a day.
NOTE: They must stay in that form for # minutes per damaged points lost.

Changeling females around the age of 16 to as late as age 19, can go through a period known as "heat fever" , in which during this time they are like their animal counterparts and have a very strong desire to mate, this can last for d4 days in which that time the female will do nothing but have the urge to mate, tho this sounds great to the average man, it can be very bothersome and tiring as the presistant drive of the females is relentless....and watch out for those fingernails, as in the heat of passion one could easily get shredded.
Depending on the parents or council, the women are generally locked up in a special hut to whine and cry their way thru the ordeal.

Special herbs and drugs are given to clam down the wily females, most of the time, the council tries to have the girls married off before such problems can occur.
* Ask Otnay about his little lady and his ordeal, he will tell you. :]

NOTE: Cluzinheart berries have a odd aphrodisiac effect on Changelings, much like catnip to a cat. It can throw females into heat.
As of the last decade, the changelings have been experiencing a hard time of reproducing, as they seem to be one of the many dying races of the realms. Chance for pregnancy is set at 7% per month with a 20% chance if she is in heat. This could change at anytime though, especially since it is now known they can interbreed well with humans.

Changelings can speak all forms of feline tongue
Changelings can revert back to their cat form in 1d4 turns after being polymorped into something else, from their they can shift back to their human form. Changelings can shift to their cat form at will and as many times as the y wish, but they have to be taught how to do this feat.
The young Changeling's body matures around 14 years old, and at that time the elders work with them and show them how to apply the change.
Changelings can live for up to 125 + years.
At 7th level they can learn as any other druid, how to shape shift into other animal forms as taught by their druid masters.
As stated in the player's handbook they must have a minimum wisdom score of 12 anbd a charisma of 15, then the druid receives 10% towards experience.
DM NOTES.... I made up this race about 10-11 years ago and still use it today with much success, right now my world and major characters are centered around the druids of Azlot as two of the key players are druids, one being a changeling.
