History
of Christian Wings for the World
Christian Wings for the World was born in the heart of
Lionel Smith. When God delivered Lionel from a serious plane crash
that threatened to end his flying career forever, he made a commitment
to the Lord to fly for Him. Through prayer
and the sharing of a dream, Christian Wings for the World has become a
reality. Top
A Christian corporation with a board of directors has
been formed and has recieved tax exempt status from the IRS.
C.W.W. received a title deed in the mail for an airstrip with hangar
and 47 acres of land to be used for headquarters for CWW and a training
base for pilots and mechanics. We now have Lionel and Sara Smith
(founders of C.W.W.) and Greg and Elaine Gale and their family living on
the property.
We have trained 6 pilots for missionary service, four
of which are already on field assignments( see latest
news page). Top
The Present
and the Future
Christian Wings for the World is located near Ironton,
MO, in the heart of the Ozarks. The vast tracts of timber and steep
hills of the area provide a perfect training environment. Several
small grass landing strips have been made available to use for instructing
pilots on short-field take off and landings. A missionary
aircraft and pilot resource center is also being established to coordinate
aviation activities on the mission field worldwide. Top

entry level requirements
If you have a commercial pilot certificate with instrument
rating at least 350 logged hours and an A & P mechanic certificate
along with two years of Bible school, or at least a good working knowlege
of the Bible (CWW board will be the judge of this) you may be elgible
for our advanced pilot training. If you are short of the pilot certificates,
ratings, or logged time, we are able to help you aquire the time and experience
you need. Top

Wings for the World will accomplish its mission through:

Placing actual CWW aircraft on the foreign field to be
used for missionary transportation and support.

Providing advanced bush pilot training.

Providing repair capabilities of all CWW aircraft.

Providing communication equipment and repair for all air
traffic needs.

Preparing trained, resourceful pilots to survive a bush
environment with both flying skills and aircraft maintenance capabilities.

Developing and maintaining an aviation mission resources
center using the latest computer and communication technology. Top
