You are a brave soul...you've chosen the RED pill and I hope that I can reward your bravery with the most comprehensive analysis of the project as possible. I've been as complete as I could be given the fact that I wanted to get these summaries up before the end of 1999. Over time, though, I imagine I'll edit and tweak things.
For those
not very familiar with the art of Film & Music Synchronicity, this project
is a marriage of two seemingly unrelated works of art:
the music of Rush
&
the film The Matrix
Some people in the synchronicity community prefer a simpler approach to this art form...namely starting a given music CD at the beginning of a film and letting it play through uninterupted. I have no problem with this approach whatsoever. However, when I start experimenting with a film, I can't help but get caught up in the spirit of things and begin arranging things in a manner that I feel works beautifully.
There's also a few people who say things like "You have too much time on your hands" or "Get a job, slacker." My response to this is I do indeed have a job *and* what time I do have leftover after my family responsibilities, like anyone else, I like to devote to hobbies or pastimes. Your hobby may be fishing or bowling...my hobby is synching. So, in the immortal words of Crow T. Robot, BITE ME!
Fortunately, though, the vast majority of responses I have received from my experiments has been overwhlemingly positive.
With that
said, let's do some exploring, shall we?
As indicated above, this section is still a work in
progress. Some of the points of entry below are complete, some are not.
At the very least, each section will have pictures from the film that
give some indication as to what transpires onscreen during that particular
song. Over time, I will update each section and eventually a
detailed synopsis will be the result.
Below is a chronological listing of the songs used in
