THINK I'M HYPING THIS THING TOO MUCH?

HERE'S WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY

Hi Dave, I have just recently viewed the copy of the Rush Wonka Project. I don't know where to begin, I will start by letting you know, I most truly enjoyed the experience, at this time I have viewed it once and look forward to viewing it again and again.

There are so many INCREDIBLE syncs that totaly blow me away, I am almost speechless!!  Thats only the syncopated rythmic/cinematic aspect.

There are many many parallels that occur through out the movie in regards to the lyrical content of song and scene, musical mood changes and movie mood changes. Quite simply I am amazed at the whole thing.

I found it to be quite a contrast sitting there watching it and listening to Rush. At the same time I found it strangely fitting. (almost something Rush would do)  As far as a general overview goes, there are many favorite parts. Some of them just knock my socks off!! (that's NOT an understatement)

I also found myself getting refreshed with a movie I haven't seen for a long long time. That in itself was most entertaining, relating your choices of songs relative to the parts of the movie, and within that spectrum, sighting the parallels of the musical moods and lyrical themes to the on screen performance.

You my friend, have nailed it smack on the head!!

I just sat here by myself and took the whole thing in, rocking out to Rush and seeing the amazing syncs, and looking for other relations, which this is just loaded with. I loved not knowing, what was coming up next, a most excellent mix!

Your "compendium of sorts" (which I honestly read afterward) is a mirror image of my thoughts and favorite parts.........it just blows me away.

I can't begin to thank you for sharing this experience with me.

Your hard work (if it means anything to you) has paid off. It truly has touched me in a way that only a true Rush fanatic, such as yourself can understand.

Once again Dave, FULL MARKS............ I can't say enough about it!!!!

Thanks again,

Craig - Victoria, BC

+++Craig later added - "It seems as though your experimentation has opened many different doors in this form of media. I commend you on your hard work, imagination, and continuing enthusiasm towards what is a welcome change in 'sitting down and watching a movie.'"

I think it's the "Citizen Kane" of recreational filmmaking...... :-)

Hey Dave! Sorry for the delay in responding. I had the flu, and my head still feels like it's in a cloud. Nevertheless I had plenty of time to watch your brilliant tape. I've watched it 3 times already. I'm glad to see someone use music other than Floyd, to come up with something that good. I believe that synching is totally an art form, and you demonstrated it well. Some would say that it was a forced synch, but I'm all for it!! Good job!  ...From myself as being a syncher to another, A+ for the effort & work you put into it.  I'm kinda proud of you man...( as tears start to fall) lol.....

(Dave's addendum:  Check out Kenny's great syncing discoveries by visiting his website - Synchronicities Of Pink Floyd In Space)

My wife & I just watched it, and we're still aching with amusement. I personally think that you deserve some sort of prize...or at least REAL recognition...for discovering this marvel...

I told my wife to visit your website, which she did, and afterwards she commented that you must be some sort of super-stoner with way too much time on your hands (a comment I often hear her use when she's referring to me!). While this may be true, now that we've actually seen it, we also acknowledge that you are a genius.

Thanks for making this Thursday evening one of the most enjoyable excursions into pop/sub-culture I've had in a very, very long time. I honestly think that your discovery RIVALS the Floyd-Oz sync, which quite frankly I don't find to be all that incredible.

This thing is amazing!  I loved it!

That is the coolest damn thing I have ever seen. I thought the Floyd thing was kinda stupid, but this Rush sync is crazy. Good thinking man.

I saw your website about the Willy Wonka thing and tried it out, and damn! How'd you think to put those two together??? It works together so well it's eerie!!! :-)

Thanks my friend. Truly an amazing experience.

I finally had the time to view the project and I was very impressed. It was extremely fun to watch and I found myself agreeing with most if not all the comments you had to make about each song. My brother started watching it also and found it hard to leave even though he is not a Rush fan.

Dude the sync is unreal!

+++...and finally...back in October of 1999, I was contacted by an MTV news representative who was looking into doing a story on the music-film synchronicities "thing", if you will.  Sadly, the story was shelved, but here are the comments Mike Ritter of MTV News shared regarding TRWP...+++

"Dear Dave,

Thanks for sending the tape. The segment we were producing called Synchronicity got canceled (and that has nothing to do with your tape). I thought that some of the synchs were interesting (like the signing of the contract) but I mostly enjoyed it just for the sound quality (I'm not that familiar with RUSH) -- after a while I just stopped taking notes and it was fun to watch!

Mike"
