The Pilot

There's a chick running through the woods in her nightgown, she's found dead the next morning, and the folks that find her reveal that she is the fourth person to die under mysterious circumstances in them thar woods, and they ALL graduated the same year, possibly from Helter Skelter High. she has two strange marks on her back.

Back in Washington, we meet Special Agent Dana Scully, MD, newly assigned to substantiate the work of one Fox Mulder, a border-line nut case with friends in high places (and who the hell is that guy standing in the corner and smoking?...he gives me the creeps). Scully goes over hill and under dale, into the basement of the FBI building, to meet this nummy, when she enters his office and he turns around in his chair, we experience the first of what will come to be known as SQUIDGE MOMENTS, oh, my, that little piece of hair in his eyes, and those GLASSES, and that VOICE and SSLLAAAAPPP!!!.ok, but Scully is not the only one to leave this scene with a secret little smile.

The next day, they are off to the very plausible state of Oregon to investigate the unexplained death of these kids. While they are driving the first of many blah blue Tauruses, the radio cuts out (not an uncommon occurance in a Taurus), Mulder gets out and paints a big orange "X" in the road, Scully thinks he's nuts. They are exhuming a body, when the rope breaks, and the casket breaks open, and what is inside is clearly NOT human. The corpse has a THING up it's nose. Two of the kids are in the same mental facility, the guy is comatose, and the girl is in a wheel chair, but she takes a nutty when Muldr and Scully are there, leaps from the chair, crashes, and they see that SHE has the marks on her back, too.

They go to check out the woods themselves, Mulder's compass goes goofy, and Scully seees a BIG BRIGHT LIGHT, which turns out to be the Redneck sherriff's truck, he chases them out out the woods, they see their OWN bright light in the car, lose 9 minutes, and Mulder does a little dance of joy in the rain. He IS a strange man, but oh, MY , does he look good WET....

Scully is typing up her report, when the power goes of, she finds strange marks on her OWN back, and runs to Mulder's room, where he squidgeably determines the marks are mosquito bites, she THROWS herself into his arms anyway, no fool her, and ends up laying on his bed, while he tells her an angsty story about his missing sister, and his quest for THE TRUTH. The evidence they collected that day was the closest he's gotten to prove his theory.

The wheelchair girl is now dead, they go to investigate, Sculy notices the girls watch stopped at 9:03, which is the same time her and Mulder lost time. When they get back to the hotel, they find the place ablaze, so long evidence. However, they have determined that the son of the red neck is the connecting point, that he is being used to summon the others to the woods for these experiments, and later, they find him in the woods with Papa, who apparently knew all the time, but NOW, there is another incredible bright light, a whirlwind of leaves, and the kid is not only NOT dead, he is out of the coma completly and the marks are gone from his back. Hmmmm.

Scully, back in Washington, tells the brass that she can not scientifically substantiate Mulder's findings, because all their evidence was destroyed, but she DOES stilll have the implant from the body's nose. The Silent Smoker takes the implant and puts it in a Pentagon storage facility where there are lots of implants stored...lots and LOTS of implants.

I'm confused ...and I'm gonna LIKE this show.....
